This coffee was sourced directly through a friendship we’ve developed with producer Alejandro Ariza who owns Finca la Argelia with his family. We had the pleasure of meeting Alejandro and trying his coffee with him. While cupping, we got to talking about what coffee meant to him, and he told me a story about his memory of picking pink bourbon with his grandfather as a child so that is his favorite coffee. He was inspired to produce coffee by a family friend in the coffee industry who happens to be Diego Bermudez.

His lifelong passion for coffee and desire to learn from the greats has paid off, and we’re honored to be able to share his crop with you. This maragogype is grown at 1630 masl, honey processed with less than half of the mucilage removed, and dried in parabolic drying beds.

This one is really special for us. Alejandro sent us the entire crop from this last harvest, which is a very small amount. He only reserved a small amount for himself to enjoy. Maybe we’re biased, but this coffee is really wonderful and complex. We’re tasting plum, mango, mint, chocolate, and deep florals. This makes a great pour over, but the flavors really hold up well in other brew methods. This is great in all forms!
